Johane du Plessis

 

Director

Johane du Plessis is a proud Namibian and a respected netball player. Her passion for the sport began during her junior years, and she has achieved significant milestones in her senior career. These include receiving Honorary Colors for the U15, U17, and U19 teams, as well as for Fast 5’s in her matric year, at the Senior High School she attended in Namibia. Johane was also selected to be part of an invitational South African team that participated in an international 7’s tournament in Dubai when she was 18. In addition to her playing career, she served as a Namibian umpire and has since extended her umpiring experience to South African Netball.

Johane is a certified personal trainer and has consistently excelled in the fields of education, sport, and health. She is deeply passionate about using her knowledge and research to make a tangible impact on the lives of others, particularly aspiring netball players.

A dedicated sports enthusiast with strong community values, Johane firmly believes in the power of sport and community to foster a positive environment for the growth and development of young people. With her strong leadership skills, she is eager to contribute to the development of the netball club focused on each player to reach their full potential.

Stella Scholtz

 

Director

Stella Scholtz whom originates from Nelspruit and subsequently moved to Cape Town in 2022 is a Conveyancing Paralegal by trade and after hours she dedicates her time to netball. She is an avid netballer who has played both club and action netball in Nelspruit for a period exceeding 19 years.

Stella was selected and played in the Action Netball interprovincial tournament for the Lowveld Mambas in 2019. Stella’s enthusiasm encouraged her to establish Somerset Netball Club & Academy together with 2 passionate Netball players Johane and Melanie. Netball plays a huge part in Stella’s life and has not only helped her build resilience and leadership skills but provided her with the competitive challenges that makes sport so great. She has made many friends, had many laughs and rolled many ankles on the courts

Stella is looking forward to the opportunity to do her part in ensuring netball in Somerset Netball Club & Academy runs smoothly, sharing her perspective and skills pertaining to the detail in what it takes to run such an organisation.
